Very fine folded soldiers letter written on lined notebook paper datelined "Near Garey's Bridge NC September 1st, 1863. Endorsed at top right "S.T. Dixon Co H 24th regt of NC Troops complete addressed to his father, "Mr T.H. Dixon, Allensville PO, Parson County NC". Full typed transcript of letter is included. Samuel T. Dixon (age 23) enlisted 3/1/1862, was later wounded at Bermuda Hundred, VA 5/18/1864 and died of his wounds a few days later. Signed John Kimbrough 2007.
