Great Central Fair 10c & 30C composite large die proofs printed through matte on proof paper. Produced by Ernest Schernikow about 1903, Carmine, Violet, Bright Blue, Vermillion, & Steel Blue. They are exceedingly scarce in relationship to the other Great Central Fair essays and proofs. No more than three examples of each color were pulled and many no longer exist. Valued at $350.00 each. VF-XF, some with hinge remnants, and a few faults. Rare group! (SCV $1750)
