Handwritten cover from Maj. Gen. Robert Baden-Powell originally sent from Cape Town, South Africa to his brother Francis (Frank) Baden-Powell in London in September 1900. Cover was free franked "O.A. Service, R. Baden-Powell, Maj. Genl" as authorized to those on active military service in the British Army to allow the British Forces Post Office (BFPO) to process mail without regular postage affixed by the sender. Correspondence included is a letter written on Baden-Powell family stationery in November 1900 by his mother's Secretary sent to someone whom admired Maj. Gen. Baden-Powell at that time and had requested a copy of his signature. Note the letter is glued to the reverse of the envelope and neatly mounted to an exhibit type page with documentation.
