Sterling Stamps November 30, 2024 PUBLIC/INTERNET Auction
They depict the head of the “Imperial Prince” who was later Napoleon IV and son of Napoleon III. He died a young man at 23 while fighting with the British against the Zulu’s in 1879. These essays were designed by Jean Joubert de le Ferte who was the chief engraver at De La Rue. The stamps have 4 margins with hinge remnants, a few with tiny faults. (Est $80-120)
